Privacy Policy
A Pete Lab builds and sells small Apple ecosystem software products. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how to contact us about privacy requests.
1. Information we collect
When you browse this website, we may receive standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps, and basic device metadata through hosting, security, or analytics infrastructure.
When you use a product license, activation or validation requests may include product slug, license status, app version, platform, timestamp, request metadata, and a device identifier or hash needed to operate licensing.
We do not upload or store private data created while you use our software on our servers without your explicit authorization.
2. Timo app data
Timo is a clipboard and desktop utility.
To provide its features, Timo may locally process clipboard text, images, files, screenshots, file paths, file index data, OCR or search text, app preferences, shortcut settings, permission status, and related local records on your Mac.
Unless you enable a sync, export, or support feature, this content stays on your device.
A Pete Lab does not sell this content and does not use it for advertising.
3. Screen capture data
Timo uses the macOS Screen Recording permission only when the user explicitly starts a standard or scrolling screenshot. For a standard screenshot, Timo temporarily captures the current display in memory so the user can select a region. For a scrolling screenshot, Timo captures image frames only from the user-selected region from the time the user starts the capture until they finish or cancel it, and stitches those frames on the device. Timo does not capture screen audio, microphone, or camera data and does not continuously record the screen in the background.
Screenshots that the user chooses to keep may be processed on the device for annotation, OCR, translation, copying, pinning, and clipboard history. Temporary images that the user does not confirm are discarded when the capture session ends.
Screen capture data is not uploaded to A Pete Lab servers and is not used for advertising, analytics, tracking, or user profiling. If the user explicitly enables iCloud sync, saved screenshots are stored through Apple CloudKit in the user’s private iCloud database solely to sync Timo content across the user’s devices.
Screenshots are retained until the user deletes them or until the user’s storage limit or automatic cleanup settings remove them. Deletion removes the local record and, when iCloud sync is enabled, synchronizes the deletion through iCloud.
4. Purchases and licensing
For Mac App Store products, purchases, auto-renewable subscriptions, lifetime purchases, refunds, and payment information are handled by the Apple App Store and StoreKit.
A Pete Lab does not receive or store full payment card numbers, and does not directly process App Store payments.
To deliver products, validate purchase status, prevent abuse, and provide support, we may process necessary App Store transaction identifiers, subscription or purchase status, product plan, expiration date, refund or revocation status, and related support records.
If you contact us directly, we may also keep the email address and conversation details you provide so we can handle your support request.
5. Cloud sync data
If you choose to enable iCloud sync in Timo, Timo stores sync data through Apple CloudKit in your own private iCloud database.
This data is used only to keep your Timo content in sync across your devices.
A Pete Lab does not sell or share this sync data and does not use it to access unrelated files or iCloud content.
You can turn off iCloud sync or clear its cloud data from Timo at any time.
6. How we use information
We use collected information to provide downloads, activate licenses, maintain product accounts, respond to support requests, troubleshoot issues, improve product quality, protect the service, and meet legal or payment compliance obligations.
7. Retention and sharing
We keep records only as long as needed for product operation, support, security, accounting, and legal requirements.
We do not sell personal information.
We share information only with service providers that help us run A Pete Lab, host infrastructure, provide support, support App Store purchase validation, or comply with law.
8. Your choices
You can contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information where applicable.
Some records may need to be retained when required for security, licensing integrity, accounting, dispute handling, or legal compliance.
